Dr. Wayne Wright

Dr. Wayne Wright attended the University of Western Ontario and then completed his Dental degree at the University of Toronto in 1975. Since then he has completed Post Graduate studies in TMJ treatment, Orthodontics, Laser treatment, Implant Dentistry, and Nutrition. As well he belongs to International Study Groups and attends numerous courses to keep his knowledge as current as possible. He enjoys teaching other Dentists and members of his Professional team in order to offer progressive and quality Dentistry to his clients. He updates equipment regularly to offer the latest advances in Dentistry.

Dr. Wright enjoys helping his clients by pointing out their invividual needs and then working with them to discover what treatment would be best. His sincere wish is that each person will be pleased with his or her Dentistry.

When not focusing on Dentistry, Wayne likes to spend time with his family; his wife and two grown children. His hobbies include gardening, fishing, boating, woodworking and travelling. As well, he supports his church. He is a member of the Guelph-Wellington Rotary Club and enjoys the fellowship and working in the community. Many of the team in the practice participate in the annual Dragon Boat Festival, which is a large community fundraiser for his Rotary Club. The other large event is the Duck Race on Canada Day.

Dr. John Boersma

Dr. John Boersma received his Dental degree from the University of Toronto in 1971. He practiced general Dentistry in Hamilton until 1997 when he had the opportunity to sell his practice. Since he was not completely ready to retire, he chose to continue treating clients in our practice. His passion for Dentistry, his philosophies for practicing, and his desire for placing quality restorations is very close to that of Dr. Wright's, so John decided to come and work in this facility with our team.

Dr. Boersma has taken and taught numerous courses in Dentistry. He has pursued learning about Dentistry in Europe, the United States and Canada. John has excellent knowledge of how teeth function during chewing and is therefore able to competently treat clients with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ). He is able to correct bite interferences through adjustments and is skilled at completing full mouth restorations for severely damaged bites. Clients will find that Dr. Boersma is a perfectionist who takes great care in discovering with them what Dentistry is needed and how they choose to proceed. We are pleased that he has chosen to share his expertise with our team and our clients.

Dr. Boersma lives with his wife in Guelph. One of his sons is a Dentist, the other graduated with a B.Sc. in Biology and Psychology and a diploma in computer programming, and his daughter is a Hygienist. John is fully enjoying his semi-retirement visiting his place in Florida, his cottage, playing tennis, travelling, and participating in the work of his church. He is involved with the Missions to Haiti, a Medical and Dental group, which visits Haiti once or twice a year to provide free service to the residents.

History

Dr. Wright began his Dental Practice in 1975 after completing his science undergraduate courses at the University of Western Ontario and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. He has continued his post-graduate education in Dentistry by studying Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, Axiography and Orthodontic Procedures in order to offer a full understanding and treatment of full mouth restoration. He continues to take courses in Periodontics as well as attending numerous day courses and conventions to keep up with the latest that Dentistry has to offer. Dr. Wright is a member of a Diagnostic Study Group of Dentists who meet approximately five times a year.

Dr. Wright moved to the facility at 27 Woodlawn Road in Guelph in December of 1991 after spending 17 years at the corner of Speedvale and Edinburgh Roads, Guelph. The new facility provides more space for equipment such as the Lasers, KCP and IntraOral Cameras and computers. As well, there are more private areas to consult with clients about their individual needs in Dentistry.

Over the years, associate Dentists have learned and worked here before starting practices of their own elsewhere. In March of 1997, Dr. John Boersma sold his practice in Hamilton and joined the team.

Most of the team members in the practice have been in Dentistry for a long time. Their experience and skills are of great benefit to the care level of the clients. The practice has continually grown in response to the dedication and willingness of the team to bring this exceptional care and knowledge to the clients.
